About Sowerby

Sowerby is the old hilltop village high above Sowerby Bridge, a separate place entirely from the town in the valley below. It is built around Towngate and the village green, dominated by the huge Georgian bulk of St Peter's Church, with long views down the Ryburn and Calder valleys from the ridge.
We cover the whole of Sowerby - the cottages along Towngate and Quarry Hill, the lanes climbing past Boulder Clough and Steep Lane, and the newer housing strung out along Sowerby New Road. The hilltop roads are narrow and exposed, so let us know your access when you book and we'll match the skip to the drive.
Sowerby is about five miles from our valley depot - a short run up the hill once we're through Sowerby Bridge. Most HX6 bookings go out the next working day, and we handle plenty of clear-outs on the older stone cottages as well as garden and renovation jobs across the village.
